    When I heard the words "Dog Kennel" or " Dog Pound" as a kid, I would cringe. The first thing that popped into my head was a kennel full of sad, lost, and scared dogs that were already on their way to being put down if the owner didn't come get them. The Lorain County Dog Kennel has completely changed that, they hardly ever have to put dogs down, now! Thanks to the many rescue organizations and the local Animal Protective League, the kennel's euthanizing rate has gone down nearly 80%. Also, staff is very helpful in answering any questions you may have.
